Detailed Instructions

The following tools are needed to install the decoder:

  • Small screwdriver, ideally Phillips PH0
  • Nut driver 4 mm
  • Tweezers
  • Small flush-cutting pliers
  • Soldering iron with a fine tip and a power of 30 - 60 watts
  • Multimeter with resistance measurement function

Remove the five screws on the back and remove the cover.

Remove the black actuator with the two magnets.

Remove the four nuts with lock washers and the four screws.

Remove the circuit board with coil, heat conducting plate and thermal switch.

Remove the three nuts from the track bed.

Place the turnout decoder in the track bed and screw it in place with four lock washers, four nuts and a screw.

Remove the heat conducting plate from the coil and the thermal switch.

Unsolder the thermal switch and coil from the circuit board.

Solder the coil to the turnout decoder. The left wire goes to the bottom solder contact, the middle wire goes to the outer solder point. Put the coil back in place.

Shorten the actuator directly after the magnet and reinsert it. Make sure the spring wire is in the center of the black plastic part.

Test the installation. The resistance at the two solder contacts must be 18 - 22 ohms. The turnout must switch smoothly by hand.

Remove the yellow programming jumper and replace the cover. If the cover rests on the pins, remove the small lugs of the cover at this point. Screw the cover back on with the five screws.
